With great finesse and authenticity, the Italian label Campomaggi crafts luxurious bags from premium cowhide leather. Company founder: Marco Campomaggi. In 1983, his journey in search of something enduring began on the beach promenade in Cesenatico—armed with nothing more than a pair of scissors, a hole punch, and a few awls. Today, Campomaggi bags epitomize Italian craftsmanship and authentic luxury with that certain something.
Handmade
Far from outdated: The craftsmanship that goes into making Campomaggi bags gives each one a unique finish, making every piece one-of-a-kind. Each piece also features the company logo, which consists of three elements that are very important to Marco Campomaggi: the fish (his zodiac sign and his love of fishing), his date of birth, and his birthplace, Teodorano.
Craftsmanship at the Highest Level
A Campomaggi bag goes through many steps before you can buy it as a finished product at Bijou les Boutiques. It all begins with a design by Marco Campomaggi, whose artistic vision and innovative thinking are woven into the design.
In a second step, 100% Italian cowhide is tanned using tannins derived from wood and plant materials. This natural tanning process not only gives the leather its durability but also imparts a unique color and texture to the finished bag.
In the third step, experienced artisans bring Marco Campomaggi's design to life. The prepared leather is carefully cut to size, and the various parts of the bag are joined together with precise stitching.
Finally, the bag is given its distinctive finish. Selected rivets are attached to the bag using a technique invented by Marco Campomaggi. Here, too—in the final step of production—the durability and quality of the finished product are the top priority.
